STATUE OF GUDEA
A notable item from Sitchin's personal collection was this replica of the Statue of Gudea. It was prominently displayed in his living room, positioned between two red chairs, and occasionally appeared in recorded interviews for public viewing. (Click the link below to see more images and a video clip.)
As with some of his other personal items, the Statue of Gudea was sold to one of his fans through an auction after his passing.
ABOUT GUDEA
During Gudea's reign in ancient Mesopotamia (approx. 2144 BCE to 2124 BCE), inscriptions found on statues, stones or clay tablets commonly praised him as "Gudea, the builder of temples, may he live long." Commissioned by Gudea or his associates, these texts honored his contributions and sought blessings for his longevity. The inscriptions celebrated Gudea's vital role in constructing temples while expressing wishes for his well-being.
Sitchin writes about Gudea in the 5th book of The Earth Chronicles, “WHEN TIME BEGAN”. It's written within a section titled, “The Divine Architects”. Click below to more photos and also read some interesting paragraphs from the book.
